自然由来の材料にこだわって
深い山々に囲まれ、美しい空を望む場所に佇むアトリエで、
自然由来の材料にこだわり器や家具などを制作しているMoonRounds。
吉野杉や吉野ひのきはもちろん、桜、桑、楠、栃などの広葉樹も使用。
樹種によって形も温度も硬さも癖も異なり、また同じ樹種であっても個性があるため、
ひとつひとつの素材、それぞれの価値に向き合って、
それに似合う形を作り上げていくことにこだわって制作しています。
草木染めに使う染料、蝋、オイルも植物由来の素材を使い、自然の素朴さとぬくもり感じる作品です。
Hidden deep in the mountains, in an atelier that stands with a view of the beautiful sky,
MoonRounds makes dishes and furniture while taking great care to use materials from nature.
While I of course use Yoshino cedar and Yoshino cypress, I also use broad-leaved woods
such as cherry wood, mulberry, camphor, and horse chestnut wood.
The shape, temperature, hardness, and tendencies change depending on the kind of wood,
and since even the same kinds have unique traits, I find the value in each piece of material,
one by one, and take great care to turn it into a form that matches it.
I use dyes, waxes, and oils that are all plant-based, and make creations that let you feel the simplicity and warmth of nature.
